From late Summer to early winter it produces pink feathery plumes that turn to white when they mature. Once the foliage dries out it turns to a light tan color. Mature compact size of 3 to 4 feet fits nicely into smaller gardens. Adagio Miscanthus grass is a dwarf cultivator from the Miscanthus family only reaching three to four feet tall and wide. Adagio provides great texture and interest with its very narrow striking silver grey foliage. In late Summer to early winter this grass produces pink feathery plumes that mature to white. The foliage dry out and turn to a light tan color that can be left along with the plumes to provide interest in the landscape during winter. In spring the foliage should be trimmed to the ground before new growth appears. Right after trimming is the ideal time to divide Adagio if desired. Afterward, it only needs supplementary water during times of extreme heat and drought. Fertilize your plant with variety specific fertilizer 2-3 times during the growing season, starting in early spring.
